Rudesheim Germany

25 Oct-Sunday- Rüdesheim > Rhine Gorge
In charming Rüdesheim we boarded the ‘Winzerexpress’ mini train for a guided visit of Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. This is the first museum collection of automated musical instruments in Germany and holds an impressive collection. Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum is housed in Brömserhof which was a noble court built in 1542.
Then enjoyed a cable car ride to the Niederwald Monument for a spectacular bird’s eye view of the river.
Now enjoying the cruise down the Rhine river. First time we can open the window on our private balcony. Loving the small towns along the way the colours of the vegetation.

 Playing the Blue Denube

  • The Hupfeld phono Liszt Violina are amazing mechanical violins. Because these instruments musically and technically surpassed all expectations they have been described as the eighth wonder of the world.

Bernhard Dufner’s band of 27 automatic dolls, each one playing a different instrument

Following photos taken riding the cable car to the top. Great view.
