Freuderberg Germany

24 Oct-Saturday - Freudenberg
Lots of little group visits to choose from. We went to a small town to see how liqueurs and schnapps are made. Coldest we have been all cruise. Sampled a great array of German sausages and bread before to real tasting. Sampled 17 liqueurs and 6 schnapps made from all sorts of fruit. Loved apple and rhubarb and also chocolate. In Freudenberg we got to celebrate the Scenic version of ‘Oktoberfest’, Germany’s famously fun festival. Enjoyed a nice lunch, joyous oom-pah-pah music, festive blue flags, and an abundance of fine beer.
Our last section on the Main Canal is about 350 kl long and we went up the river through 34 locks.
We were so excited to go through the first lock that people got up early to see it. After 67 Locks we did not even take any notice.
Glad to watch New Zealand only just beat South Africa. Dinner had to be held up until it finished.

Artists recidence-can you see the art work in the window

This building built in 1480. Cannot believe how old the buildings are and are still standing.

 Sausages to sample.

Bear for lunch at Oktoberfest luncheon.

Scenic Jasper we are travelling on.
